Live 5-2-1-0 Communities
Launched as a pilot project in 2009 within the communities of Abbotsford and Prince George, SCOPE’s first phase focused on building community-based partnerships and identifying needs and opportunities to prevent childhood obesity. In collaboration with these community partners and as a result of priorities and preferences they had identified, SCOPE adapted and adopted the ‘5-2-1-0’ message to create BC’s version, ‘Live 5-2-1-0’.
Beginning in 2011, the second phase focused on supporting pilot communities, Abbotsford, Chilliwack (2012), Kimberley (2013), and Hope (2014) as they identified, developed, and implemented local strategies to share and support Live 5-2-1-0 in their respective regions.
Now in its third phase, SCOPE continues to support existing Live 5-2-1-0 communities, while also building partnerships with new communities across BC who express interest in implementing Live 5-2-1-0. As the Live 5-2-1-0 community network continues to grow, so too does the amount of experience, knowledge, and resources exchanged among its partners. Read on to learn how each community is building healthier environments for children and families by adapting and adopting Live 5-2-1-0!
