Resources for Media
The media is a key link to reaching residents within a community and creating awareness about Live 5-2-1-0.
The media plays an important role in bringing attention to the need for healthier living in children. Using local media channels can help share the Live 5-2-1-0 message – the wider the reach, the more demand created in communities to make changes for a healthier environment.
SCOPE and our partner communities have developed a number of ready-made Live 5-2-1-0 resources and tools that can be adapted and adopted for marketing and promotions in your own community. These can be used in traditional media such as local newspapers, or you can use them in your own organization’s newsletters, websites, or offices. Check these out below – and check back often as we’re adding more all the time!
This checklist provides an opportunity for your organization or sector to reflect on its progress in helping to create a healthier community environment for children and families. It lists some ideas, and examples from our Live 5-2-1-0 partners, on ways to promote the 5-2-1-0 guidelines and support healthy behaviours in your local media, and has additional space to add in your own.
Our Live 5-2-1-0 Community Marketing Guide has been developed to help communities make the most of their efforts to share the Live 5-2-1-0 message!
